Today’s episode we talk about the Top 4 Exercises for Functional Strength. The training world has become littered with nuance and detail – to the point where its almost impossible to decide what exercises are “right”. Last week, we discussed the 6 exercises that suck for strength training. Some of those exercises you might even be doing in your programs right now. Honestly, I did Barbell Bent Over Rows last week.

All exercises come down to what is best for the specific person doing them. In this case, if we were able to only do 4 exercises for the rest of our lives to promote strength and optimize your health. Strength training should encompass a mixture of muscle building and structurally fortifying activities.

    Is deadlifts with dumbbells different from those with trap bar ?

      As long as you maintain a neutral grip position they are very similar. The main difference would be to individual weights in hand versus one individual piece of equipment.
