On today’s episode, we have Strength and Conditioning Coach from the University of Arizona, Ashley Kowalewski. I first met Ashley years back when she was working as a strength coach at the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association). Since that time, AK as she is known moved to University of Michigan and now works at the University of Arizona.
Getting into Strength and Conditioning has a lot of hurdles people don’t necessarily know about. Its a grind of a job and isn’t cut out just for anyone. But if you are fortunate enough to make it to a spot, you have the ability to have a true impact on a large group of highly motivated and malleable kids. I thought it was important to have her on to show the ropes of what some of S&C looks like, the responsibility that comes along with it, and what its like navigating the space as the only female currently on staff at UA.
