Whether your business is as a Personal Trainer, Physical Therapist, Health Coach, or you are trying to have more of an impact in your network – Social Media is a must. There are a so many people on these platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Clubhouse, etc.) and more people don’t know how to properly use them then do!
Building out your profile on social media can lead to wider reach of your message, more “credibility” as a professional, and ultimately an increase in your business. If you want to have an impact by expanding this extra arm of your personal brand, it’s going to take a few key principles to follow to grow and remain true to your own message.
BE AUTHENTIC
I believe that the most important characteristic for a coach building a social media presence is showing that there REAL HUMAN BEINGS, BEING THEMSELVES!
When people go into your social media page they already know your a coach. It’s on your bio, and your username probably has something fitness or coach related implemented in it already.
On top of that all your content is workout videos, workout pictures, healthy nutrition videos, and healthy nutrition pics, or anything related solely to what your job is.
Here’s the problem, people are looking to connect with you as a person first and then hire you as a coach after! So if your not sharing content that shows your personality, hobbies, interests, vulnerabilities, your family, and enjoying yourself like a regular person you are then going to lose many new connections that could have been made.
Now, this doesn’t mean not to post workouts and anything related to your work. It simply means sprinkle around content that’s relatable and creates connection with others instantly!
That’s the type of content that makes people trust you as a person, which then allows you to serve them as a coach after!
LEVERAGE FOR BUSINESS
Building a big following is great, but if you don’t know how to leverage it correctly your missing out!
Personally for me having a big following has helped me land many gigs with big brands & companies like: Puma, Miami Heat, Miami Dolphins, Onnit, & More. It has also landed many big guests for my podcast show, and as well has brought me man clients in my coaching business.
Now keep in mind when I was sitting at around 90-120k followers which was still big, I was not generating as much traction until I understood the importance having a system in place on the front end and backend.
I know people and have worked with people who have massive followings who have barely any clients and are driving in low revenues!
I also know people and have worked with people who have small followings who are driving in big revenue!
At the end of the day, It all has to do with having the right systems in place on the backend and front end that will help you leverage the following you already have!
Now, if you have a big following and you learn the right systems on the backend and front end, then the opportunities for you are going to be insanely massive!
LEVERAGING SM FOR EXISTING BUSINESS
This ties in a bit with the one before, I truly feel that once I figured out the right systems in the backend and front end it has really given me the opportunities to get in front of huge brand & companies through my personal brand and has helped me with establishing a credibility factor when I get in front of people and other coaches for my business coaching business.
If I I’m going to teach social media growth, lead generation, strategies, and other tactics it has to start with me first. If I can’t show that through my page visually, then how will I be able to help others build there platforms and online business.
On top of that having a big following has also aligned me with building a team of my own that trusts me & wants to grow under the MFPRO Brand!
3 TIPS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA POSTING
1. Use all the features given to you on whatever platform your using. Social media Platforms love when you use all there features to create content with.
2. There’s so many social media platforms out there and it’s easy to get caught up with all of them which will take up most of your time and energy! The goal is find and pick the 2 social media platforms that most of your ideal clients are hanging out in and attack those 2 platforms first with all your energy. Once you can automate those, then you can work on a new platform.
3. Use your content correctly to speak directly and specifically to your Ideal avatar, that way you can eliminate all the tire kickers & energy drainers that your not meant to serve. You want to give your time & energy to the right people. Protect your energy & time! It’s easy to go down the rabbit whole of social media and get caught up with the wrong people and non useful content.
KATIE’S TIPS
433k FOLLOWERS
I reached out to Katie Sonier, a fellow badass Miami trainer to get her insights on Social Media. Katie had some really quick hitting tips to help stay on track with your business I wanted to add in here:
• CONSISTENCY – Staying consistent in your messaging and what you and your brand are all about. It makes people feel like they know you, what you’re all about, and eventually invest in you.
• TRULY CONNECT – More reach allows more people to see you and what you’re all about and eventually leads to more customers. The cool thing about social media is that we can really connect with people, even if it’s via the internet. I think a lot of my members who I have never met in person feel like they know me and I feel like I know them.
• KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE – Who are you talking to? Speak to them! I’m just constantly pushing my messaging and branding, being real, and showing people what myself and Train With Katie are all about. Do that and you’ll attract the right people.
Now, what you all have been waiting for…
8 MOST IMPORTANT PIECES OF CONTENT
1. TRIBULATION CONTENT
This is going to help your ideal clients see how far you’ve come and what you’ve gone through to get where you are now. Share everything you have gone through to become the person you are today. Share struggles, the hardships, the trials, the failures, the mental barrier, and obstacles you had to breakthrough to become successful today.
Make sure to avoid telling your whole story. It’s important to only share what’s relevant and relatable to your ideal clients most pressing challenges that they are facing. This is your before and after story of what you were struggling with and how you decided to make that jump by taking the leap of faith and trusting yourself. And because you’ve achieved results now, you’re paying it forward.
2. PERSONALITY CONTENT
This is a great opportunity for you to share aspects about your character, personality, and expertise. If your creating content to attract an ideal client, you need to make sure that you have something in your content about why you do what you do now.
People will completely fall in love with who you are and for your character, but most importantly they’ll stay with you for your content and vice versa. Make sure that you do your absolute best to have a good balance between both. This is where people can get a sense of your world views, beliefs, and your way of thinking and personality.
3. CONNECTION CONTENT
This is where you have the opportunity to share something personal about yourself that you’ve gone through or a part of you that no one really knows that can really speak out to your ideal client. This is where you open up in a way that makes you human and relatable.
Whether you share something traumatic, embarrassing, vulnerable, funny, or straight up weird about yourself… the goal is to be able to connect with your ideal client in a way that can help them feel more drawn to you and relatable. This really helps bring in your ideal client closer to you.
4. CREDIBILITY AND STATUS CONTENT
This is where you have the opportunity to demonstrate your authority, expertise, and education. It’s important to share a time when you or someone else had a certain problem and what you’ve discovered based on the knowledge you’ve gained through time that would showcase your expertise and how you are now going to save them time.
Make sure to share actual exercises, tactics, or specific strategies to get them quick wins or results.
5. CELEBRITY AND INFLUENCER ASSOCIATION CONTENT
This is where you have the opportunity to share your experience of meeting someone who is either really well known or recognized as an expert in what they do and is a celebrity within your niche field and what you learned from them that pertains to how you are now helping others out there. This will also help with building your credibility & authority.
On top of that it will tremendously increase your social prod and status immediately.
6. YOUR CLIENT TESTIMONIAL CONTENT
This is a great opportunity where you can share a story about someone who you’ve worked with or you know of someone who’s actually gotten the results with the information you know and are teaching others… and how it can change their lives completely just like theirs.
This doesn’t have to be your own client either. You can share a story of someone else who’s achieved similar results to what your method or system could help your clients get.
7. DISAGREEMENT CONTENT
Here’s the opportunity to share a story that goes against the conventional wisdom out there and it calls out the myths that exist in your industry. This is where you can really bring up a big dramatic story that has a lot of tension, friction, and stress.
This is a way to be able to also educate others on the fact that you are here to solve this exact problem that is occurring or stop this ongoing war. This is where you can call out all the “Fake News” that’s constantly being portrayed and pushed out in your industry. Your goal for this story is to be a hero to your client by positioning yourself as a “Reporter Of Truths & Facts.”
You need to pull your audience out of the confusion being spread and instead share with them the actual facts that tell the exact truth. Always keep in mind that facts tell & stories sell.
8. CONVERSATION CONTENT
This is your opportunity to challenge/invite your ideal client to take the next step and stop wasting time over and over again. This is targeted to encourage your ideal client to get out of their comfort zone and to take immediate action towards getting the outcome they are looking for. You want to have a very clear call to action and make sure they know exactly what to do next. This is extremely important.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
Social media shouldn’t be a burden for you but a place to outlet your personality and represent yourself as you want the world o see you. This doesn’t mean you can fake your persona because people can smell the lack of authenticity on someone when posting outlandish claims and ridiculous topics. All you can do is post consistently, be yourself, and say what you are looking to say!
